ARE YOU READY TO FULFILL YOUR DESTINY?
Greetings in the name of Jesus - Mark 4:14 the sower sows the word.
The time has come that the world is looking for answers. Will they find them in you? As pastor Jared has been teaching this month. Are you all in? Are you in it to win it? How about being in it for the long haul? That is how we can fulfill our destiny.
We may feel like we are not qualified to be in the ministry, but God takes those that are willing and the anointing from God makes us qualified. Let’s look at the most unqualified people that God used to do what needed to be done. Moses could not speak well and he was a murderer, he talked to a burning bush, and he was eighty years of age. Yet he called down frogs, flies, locusts, and he turned water into blood. Today they would call him a magician. He delivered a whole nation of people out of bondage and he parted the red sea by holding up his staff. His sister mocked him because he married a woman of color.
Can God use a waiter for the kingdom of God? Nehemiah was a cup-bearer to the king, a servant and a slave in a foreign country yet God used him to rebuild the city of Jerusalem. What about a nudist? God told Isaiah to lay in the road nude for three years. A beggar? Elijah would be called that today. He went to a widow woman to ask her for the only food she had before she and her son died. He called fire down from heaven, couldn’t he have called for food for himself? People today would say all the preachers want is our money and our possessions. How about a lunatic? They called David that when he acted like an insane fool to get away from his captors. Spit drooling, eyes rolling back in his head and acting like a madman. Yet God called him “a man after My own heart”. God elevated him to become king of Israel.
Could God use a woman in the harem of a heathen king? Esther was a Jewish girl put in the king’s harem for such a time as this. By her being willing she saved the whole Jewish people from being eliminated. What about a woman becoming pregnant before being married? In today’s world they would have a name for her. Mary was her name.
God called fishermen, tax collectors, waiters, and young girls. He did not pick scholars and polished speakers. In Corinthians 1:26-29 you see your calling brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and base things of the world and things which are despised God has chosen, and the things that are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. God will use anyone that is willing to follow His calling.
The blasphemer who claimed to be equal with God.
We can only imagine what people said about Him. Jesus knew He was going to be crucified when He rode that donkey into Jerusalem to fulfill His destiny. Because He fulfilled His destiny, we can fulfill ours. Jesus and our willingness is all we need to be qualified.
We can be who God created us to be, because it is the anointing of God on our lives. It is the anointing that removes burdens and destroys yokes. Isaiah: 10-27 Paul never healed the sick or raised the dead because he was educated and well spoken. That only happened when he had a personal relationship with Jesus. Before that he was a destroyer of Christianity. Paul’s education and ability did not change the world except for the worse, until he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus. God did not make us all the same because there is a whole world of people who need help, and whoever we are we are just what some of them need.
A personal note. I like what I saw on a church marquee. Experts built the Titanic but a servant built the ark. Noah built a boat in the desert, it took a hundred years to build with no rain in sight you know he had to be persecuted and scorned, but when the doors were shut it was too late. Noah was willing and obedient. Gideon was threshing wheat by the wine press hiding from the Midianites’ and the angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said the Lord is with you O man of valor. Gideon was willing and obedient to go. God said I will be with you, he took 300 against thousands. Hebrews 13-5 Let your conduct be without covetousness, be content with such things as you have. For He Himself said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Matthew 28:20 lo I am with you always even to the end of the age. Jesus said that. Acts 10:34 God is no respecter of persons. What He does for one He will do for others. We are all called to do something. Seek God and find out what you are called to do for the kingdom of God and to fulfill your destiny.
Dave Yoder has done Deep in the Week for many years. He went to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day, 2019. He is deeply missed. We are thankful for his dedication to the Lord, His vast knowledge of scripture and his great love for his family.
